Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI)

Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI) is a new international airport scheduled to open on October 16, 2023. It is located 50 kilometers east of Siem Reap town and 40 kilometers from Angkor Wat. The airport will have 48 gates and will be able to handle up to 7 million passengers per year.

SAI will be connected to Siem Reap town by a new highway, which is nearly complete and is expected to be fully finished by September. This will reduce the travel time to the airport to at best 45 minutes by taxi. There are currently no plans for public transportation between the airport and Siem Reap town.

The existing Siem Reap airport (REP) will be closed once SAI opens. The future use of the REP airport has not yet been determined.

SAI will be able to accommodate aircraft up to the size of an Airbus A380. The terminal building will have a capacity of 1,200 passengers per hour. The airport will also have a duty-free shop, a food court, and other amenities.
